THE PAUL SIMON STORY

The UK’s no.1 Paul Simon tribute band 'Shades of Simon' perform their highly acclaimed show ‘The Paul Simon Story’ at the Maldon Town Hall theatre on the evening of Saturday 1st November 2025.

With a fun atmosphere, an engaging narration, and outstanding musicianship from the 5-piece band, enjoy an evening with the iconic vocal harmonies and music reminiscent of the folk-rock era and the authentic sound of Paul Simon’s songs from Simon & Garfunkel in the '60's through to his South African inspired Graceland tour in the 80’s!

The band comprises professional level musicians who all share a love for Paul Simon's music and get together each Summer to do a limited number of Performances of 'The Paul Simon Story' at venues which have ranged from the majestic Knebworth House in Hertfordshire,  picnic concerts for the National Trust at Wimpole Hall, Scotney Castle and Flatford Mill, and shows at provincial theatres and arts centres throughout the East of England.

This concert is a charity fundraiser in aid of the Brain Tumour Charity.

The band feel a particularly strong affinity with the Brain Tumour Charity following the death of their friend the highly talented singer/ songwriter Dee Hepburn who died of a brain tumour back in 2020. In addition, and more recently, other members of the band have known friends and have family members who have been affected by this disease.

The Mayor of the Maldon Town Council, Councillor John Driver, will be in attendance to introduce the concert.  The Brain Tumour Charity's Regional Representative Sonja Bateup will also be there and will be happy to answer any questions you may have about the Charity's work.

We are incredibly grateful that thanks to the generosity of all those involved we will be able to donate virtually all the proceeds from the show to the Brain Tumour Charity! The musicians, technicians, support crew, PA hire company and those providing the bar have all agreed to waive their fees. Eternity Events of Rayleigh who will be running the bar will waive their fee and furthermore donate 10% of the bar takings! Our only expense will be the hire of the hall from the Town Council.  (If any local businesses would like to sponsor the hire cost of £325 in exchange for some good publicity we'd love to hear from them!)
.
So do please support us by buying a ticket to the show (and a drink at the bar)!
If we get a full house we should be able to make a donation approaching £5,000!
