THE PAUL SIMON STORY
The UK’s no.1 Paul Simon tribute band “Shades of Simon” will be bringing their highly acclaimed 2 hour show “The Paul Simon Story” to the National Trust's Flatford Mill for the 3rd year running in July 2025.
The show is performed in tribute to Paul Simon as one of best songwriters of his generation and blends an engaging narration, exceptional musicianship from the 5-piece band, and authentic renditions of the best of his songs from his time in Simon & Garfunkel in the 60’s (Homeward Bound, Sound of Silence, Bridge over troubled water etc) through to his Graceland tour in the 1980’s (Still Crazy after all these years,You can call me Al).
The band is comprised of professional level musicians who all share a love for Paul Simon's music and get together each Summer to do a limited number of Performances of 'The Paul Simon Story' at venues which have ranged from the majestic Knebworth House (home of many of the original 1970’s pop festivals!), picnic concerts for the National Trust at Wimpole Hall, Scotney Castle and Flatford Mill, and shows at provincial theatres and arts centres throughout the East of England. You can read unsolicited testimonials on our website at shadesofsimon.com
The concert will be held in the gardens at the National Trust Flatford Mill adjoining the River Stour against the backdrop of the wonderful 18th Century Old Granary building.
It is suggested people bring their own picnic food and drink plus garden chairs or rugs. In addition, the National Trust cafe will be open for tea, coffee and snacks and bottled alcoholic drinks. Toilet facilities available nearby.
Please do not bring dogs, it is not a suitable environment for them, or for babies & young children. Any children must be closely supervised at all times and kept well away from the river.
The concert should finish around 9:30pm. It'll just be getting dark by then so we recommend you bring a torch!
This is an open air event and the concert will go ahead whatever the weather, so please come suitably prepared!
Free parking available after 5pm in the National Trust car park approx 200 yards from the Gardens.
Gates open 6:00pm.
Concert starts 7:00pm
